Head and Neck Stretch - Upper Trapezius and Levator Scapulae

Sit comfortably in an upright position. Place your right hand under your right hip for stabilization. Lift your left arm and place your left palm over the top and right side of your head. Your left fingers point toward the floor.

Next, using the weight of your left arm, gently stretch your head downward toward your left shoulder. You'll feel the stretch in the right side of your neck. Relax and return to the starting position.

Next, rotate your head 45 degrees to the left. Place your left palm over the top of your head with your fingers at the back of your head. Using the weight of your left arm, gently stretch your head and neck downward. You'll feel the stretch in the back of your neck. Relax and return to the starting position.

Repeat on the other side. Place your left hand under your left hip for stabilization. Lift your right arm and place your right palm over the top and left side of your head. Your right fingers point toward the floor.

Next, using the weight of your right arm, gently stretch your head downward toward your right shoulder. You'll feel the stretch in the left side of your neck. Relax and return to the starting position.

Next, rotate your head 45 degrees to the right. Place your right palm over the top of your head with your fingers at the back of your head. Using the weight of your right arm, gently pull your head and neck downward. You'll feel the stretch in the back of your neck. Relax and return to the starting position.
